 The Raw Recruit

By "Snowy"  R Jardine

I'll admit I was a little windy,

When I landed on these shores,

Being a raw recruit,

Never been to war before,

But after we cleaned up the I'ties,

And polished off a couple of "Wogs"

So, we polished up the musket and sharpened up the bayonet too.

Then we'll go off to battle, like Grandpa, at Waterloo.
